I entered Freedom Village Store at 2:31 pm on a Friday afternoon. I was wearing a black coat and a pair of ripped jeans. My ginger locks reflecting my Scottish heritage reflected in the window of the door. I took a deep breath, feeling the free air of Freedom, NH flow through my body. I braced to enter but before I did I once again checked my watch. To my surprise it was now 2:32. I opened the door and smelled a nice odor of fresh Scottish Moreland. The shopkeep a man of a great stature greeted me with a friendly smile and a "how do you do?" I smiled back at him and thought "wow, this store is breathtaking". As I browsed through the dates I was impressed with their selection and their prices. These were the prices I would expect to pay in 1947 not 2017. I remember particularly being impressed by a package of hot dogs. I stared and poked and prodded the hot dogs looking for any cuts or imperfections. There was not any and I gasped and giggled with glee. I looked over the rest of the wares but I did not need anything else. I walked up to the counter and handed the shopkeeper my treasure. He smiled and asked if I had found everything I need. I told him yes and complimented his chizzled jaw. He liked very handsome like a young Barack Obama. As I was chatting with the shopkeep a woman entered who was about 52 years old and was wearing a red cardigan and black jeans. Her aura was strong and admirable, her smile lit up the room. I turned sharply away from the shopkeep as he said my total and wished her a good afternoon. I pointed out to her the great collection of mystery novels on display. She darted away from me fast but the rejection did not detract from MRE enjoying the store. I paid the shopkeep his wages and added " don't spend it all in one place, unless of course its in your amazing store." With that I was off, once again checking my reflection in the glass. As I took my first step back into Freedom, the windows blowing my curly locks in a playful manner in a way that I wish that woman had. My clock caught my eye and to my surprise it was now 2:33.
